Inventory & purchasing
Stock movements start with a receipt
Stock enters the system through purchases, purchase orders, or direct stock adjustments. Masanchara tracks incoming stock as identifiable layers so it can cost and consume items in a predictable order.
Purchase orders and receiving
- Create or review a purchase order and receive it when goods arrive.
- Receiving can happen partly or in full.
- The app stores the received quantity, purchase cost, receipt date, and other metadata needed for cost tracking and expiry review.
FIFO layers and expiry
Every stock layer keeps its own carrying cost and date information. When you sell stock, the app consumes the oldest eligible layers first. Expiry dates and batches are important when reviewing stock, especially with time-sensitive products.
Adjustments and write-offs
Stock adjustments are not an informal workaround; they are recorded actions with a reason. Typical examples include stocktake differences, breakage, theft, expiry, or other corrections. These movements affect the stock record directly and can also feed the financial view depending on the type of adjustment.
Use this in practice
Check the product or stock movement screen to confirm the current quantity, the layer history, and any write-off or expiry entries before taking a final count or making a supplier dispute.
