Sales & checkout
The sale flow
The checkout flow is where Masanchara turns a cart into a posted sale. From the POS screen, you add items, review quantity and pricing, select tender, and complete the transaction.
Payment methods and tender allocation
A sale can be settled with more than one payment method in the same transaction. Common workflows include:
- cash
- mobile money
- bank transfer
- store credit
- customer credit / account sale
The app also supports split tender, which lets you assign portions of the total to different payment methods before completion. If a customer credit sale exceeds an allowed limit or violates the configured account rules, the app blocks the transaction and shows the relevant validation error instead of posting it.
Tax, discounts, and totals
Tax is applied according to the product or sale configuration in the app rather than a single blanket store rate. Discounts and totals are calculated in the sale session before final posting, and the final figures are then carried into the accounting and stock records.
Stock and accounting impact
When a sale is completed, the app reduces the relevant stock from its logged layers and posts the financial accounting entries. That is why a successful sale affects both stock and cash or receivables totals, not just the receipt.
Receipts and reversal
Receipts are part of the app's output workflow, and the app also has the ability to review and reverse sale records in the relevant sale history and accounting flow. Use the sale history and reports screens to confirm what posted rather than relying on the final screen alone.
